On this card - yes, you read that right - another card! Can you believe it! I'm actually starting to enjoy making them, but my collection is getting so large I will soon need to start writing and sending them to people! Anyway, on this card I used Globecraft Memories soon-to-be-released line of acrylic paints and the colors are so beautiful! You can see the dimension on the butterfly below that is achieved by layering the paint colors, letting them dry and then coating the piece with Glastique. The effect is a very dimensional look - almost like it is magnified.
Here's how this card comes together:
Separate the Piccolo pieces from Butterfly Flurry, Piccolo set No. N012 and paint them with the dark red acrylic paint (I don't even have the names yet of these paints yet!).
Add other colors over the top leaving some of the red showing through randomly. I used three different shades of blue here - one of them being a pearl. Let the paint dry, then coat with Glastique straight from the bottle. Let sit and dry till clear.
Dab the frame (built right into the set!) with Piccolo Enamel Adhesive and randomly sprinkle on Mermaid Tears Enamel Powder, flicking most off. Heat set leaving a good percentage of the chipboard showing through.
Heat emboss the flower pieces with Enchanted Aubergine Piccolo Enamel and the stem with Moss Green Piccolo Enamel.
Stamp a sentiment on clear vellum and sprinkle with Siam Silver Piccolo Enamel; tap off access and heat set. Cut it to fit the backside of the frame and adhere to the backside of the frame with a light line of Glastique (it's a glue as well as a clear dimensional finish).
Cut a piece of pattern paper 4X5 ¼ and punch a scallop border from a coordinating cardstock using EK Success' Double Embossed Lace Punch; cut to fit pattern paper and adhere into place. Cut a strip of May Arts coordinating ribbon long enough to wrap edges to backside and tie a knot in front; trim knot ends.
Adhere assembled pattern pieces to card. Now adhere framed sentiment to card. Adhere large butterfly to ribbon knot; pop up smallest butterfly with dimensional foam tape and adhere near bottom. Add the other two in the framed sentiment area. Add flower pieces, stacking them to your liking; adhere together. Add stem and jewels to flower centers and large butterfly body and you have one beautiful card to send to a dear friend!
