So Cherished Old World Card

Hello, Charlotte here and I am sharing how to make this Old World card.  I wanted to create a card that was more masculine with an Old World flare.  For this project, I used Piccolo Enamel Powders and the Lock and Keys Card and Decor and More chipboard.

Directions

Cut a sheet of cardstock to 8"X6"

Antique the paper's surface by applying a thin layer of dye Ink using a blending tool. Lightly cover the entire surface of the paper.  Cut two additional strips of 8"X3" coordinating paper.

If you want to create a distressed look, use an open flame to burn all the edges of the 3"X8"paper strips. 

Brush a thin layer of Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive on a vintage script stamp with a
brush. Randomly stamp the vintage image on the strips of 8"x3"paper. Sprinkle with Piccolo Fine Black Enamel Powder. If you are using a tidy tray, gently tap the corner of the paper on the tray to remove all the excess enamel powder. A folded piece of paper works just a well. If any stray bits of enamel powder still remain on the surrounding image, use a small paint brush to gently remove the stray enamel powder. Holding a heat gun approximately six inches from the paper, sweep backwards and forwards until the Piccolo Fine Black Enamel Powder starts melting. Do not over heat the image with the heat gun because the enamel powder will burn.

Continue to stamp complementary images randomly on the two strips of "distressed burned" card stock using the same steps listed above. When all of the Piccolo Enamel Powder stamped images are cool, antique the paper's surface by applying a thin layer of dye Ink using a blending tool. Lightly cover the entire surface of the paper. Distress the edges of the strips with brown dye ink. Set the strips aside and move to the next step.

Apply a coat of the Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive to the front of the Piccolo Vintage Lock and Keys Card Decor and More Chipboard.
Immediately after applying the adhesive, sprinkle Piccolo Vintage Copper Enamel Powder over the entire surface of the lock and emboss with a heat tool.  While the enamel powder is hot, press a design into the warm enamel powder. (I used a rubber stamp) When the enamel powder cools, cover the entire surface of the lock with permanent black dye ink. Gently rub the surface of the lock with a cloth to remove the surface ink. The ink will remain in the recessed areas, giving the lock a vintage feel.   Glue a rhinestone gem in the upper middle section of the lock.

Glue the two 3"X8" strips of decorated card stock on each side of the 8"x6" piece of paper.  Glue the lock in the opening in the center of the card.

Add any embellishments, I added a metal key, clock face and a chipboard sentiment. Place a piece of black card stock matte behind the 6X8 " design.  Next, tear the paper on the edges of the black mat.

Cut a coordinating piece of 7"x9" card stock. Aggressively run a paper distressing tool over the edges of the 7"X9" card stock. Once the edges have been distressed with the tool, ink the edges with brown dye ink. Adhere the 7"X9" design to a piece of 7.5"X9.5" black card stock.

Best Thing Evah!

Good morning Globecraft friends!!

Easel Greeting Cards. I cannot tell you how much I have fallen in love with these!

I thought it would be fun to decorate the card using some

vintage paint chip paper. This is how I created this card. 

Step 1. Using Beacon 3N1 coat front of Easel card.

Step 2. Lay paper onto glued areas. 

Step 3. Trim off excess paper using scissors and craft knife. 

Step 4. Turn card over, use craft knife and follow lines to cut out flap. 

Now your card is ready for decoration!

I especially like covering the entire card because when you place flap

in correct position, you can see the patterned paper as shown in this photo.

 Really there are endless ways to decorate these card!

It's pretty much the best thing evah~

Creating with simplicity

Out of all the cards I've made using Globecraft Memories products thus far, this is one of my all-time favorites. I think it's the simplicity of the design coupled with that awesome effect I achieved with the Piccolo Enamel Powders.

For this card I used Temple Stone Embossing Enamel and Piccolo Card Decor Set #2. I elected to use only these two pieces from the set. There are enough pieces in these sets to spread over at least three-to-four different cards.

To begin coat the large Piccolo piece with Piccolo Powder Enamel Adhesive. This acts as your glue to hold the enamel powder on while it's being heat-set. Use a heat tool to melt two solid coats then add a third but do not heat through. Heat just enough to create veining; it creates a rustic, textured appearance. I'm in love with the effects that can be created with these enamels. Look at all the colors in the piece; that all comes from one jar!

Paint the small heart-shape Piccolo paperclip with black acrylic paint. When it's dry, give it a coat of Glossy Glastique straight from the bottle and set aside to dry. Glastique comes from the bottle a milky white and turns clear when dry.

Cut a coordinating background paper to fit your card base; mine is 4 1/8 inches-by-5 1/4 inches and it's American Crafts Night Fall Night Watch. 

The sentiments is from Stampscapes, Scenic Sentiments Sheet #1. It's stamped on a cream cardstock from my stash with Jet Black Archival Ink. While you have the Archival ink open go ahead and edge the pattern paper and sentiment block with it - just enough to define the edges.

Thread ribbon into and around the stem in the heart on the enameled piece. Adhere one end to the back of the enameled piece and leave the other end long enough to run out and tuck under the pattern paper. Lay all the elements in place onto the pattern paper and adhere. Tuck the ribbon ends behind the pattern paper and adhere in place then adhere it all to the card base.

Trumpet Angel Ornament

Have you seen all the NEW ornaments that were released at CHA?  They are awesome.  Each ornament comes with two globes and 3 rings.  I kept the ornament simple by embossing the angel and the ring, but there are so many other things you can do. 

This Trumpet Angel Ornament was covered with Temple Stone Powder and heat set 3 times.  The outer rings were covered with Gilded Rose Powder and also heat set 3 times.    A brown ribbon finishes the top and is perfect for hanging on your tree or anywhere in your home.

I added a sprig of red leaves for some splash of color around one side of the globe.  It added just the right touch of color to set off the copper tones in the globeframe.

Decorate Your Cupcake!

Hey all!  Ryann here with some ways to snazzy up the Bubble Frame Kits.  I recently received the Cupcake Bubble Frame Kit and thought it was really cute!  How fun would it be to use as place cards at a birthday party labeling out the different goodies on the treat table!  So fun!!

For my project today, I assembled the Cupcake Bubble Frame Kit as directed, except for the frosting bits.  Instead of placing a picture in the the frame, I opted for a Happy Birthday sentiment instead.  It was easy to stamp the sentiment and then place into the frame.  After I had assembled the Cupcake Bubble Frame Kit I decorated it!

I started by painting the frosting a light pink using acrylic paint.  It took two coats to get good coverage.  After the paint was dry, I popped up the frosting pieces using the dimensional adhesive provided in the Cupcake Bubble Frame Kit.  You can see from my picture above the dimension in this project!  

Once the frosting was assembled and adhered down, I applied a thin layer of Glastique for some added shine.  And then once the Glastique was dry I generously applied some bling!!

I love the way this turned out!  It would be a great addition to any birthday party table you create!  I plan on using my dazzling cupcake as a tag for a birthday present.  How fun would that be?!!

Nativity Ornament

Globecraft Memories has some amazing ornaments available on our website now!  They are a perfect addition to their other line of globe products.  A bubble is attached to both sides of the frame so you have a wonderful 3 dimentional ornament.

The ornament layers were covered with 3 layers of Enchanted Aubergine, heat setting between each layer.  The nativity was covered with 2 layers of Mermaid Tears and then I placed several layers of Glastique on top.

I used Vintage Holiday Flourishes Card Decor for the tiny elements along the bottom of the globe.  These Flourishes truly dress up the ornament.  I added Mermaid Tears and then Gilded Rose powders to the Flourishes. A layer of Glastique was placed on top for a little more dimension.

An elegant ribbon was added to the top.  And you are now ready to hang in the tree.

Home Decor Shelf

What do you get when you mix Piccolo magic with a wood shelf?  Why, an absolutely gorgeous piece of home decor!!!!  Globecraft Memories powders are truly remarkable and can cover larger items such as this shelf as easily as it covers smaller items.

I have had this FAMILY shelf in my "stash" for a very long time.  It has been waiting for just the perfect products to create something truly remarkable!  Globecraft Memories to the rescue!!

I inked the edges of the sign with Enamel Powder Adhesive, then added  Brown Stone Powder.  I love the look of  the brown and white powders together.  I also added a touch of Enchanted Aubergine along the edges - not too much, just a little to show the colors together.

I inked up the individual FAMILY letters with Enchanted Aubergine.  Since I wanted a thicker look to the colors, I heat set it several times between the Enchanted Aubergine layers.  In areas where I was having trouble using the Adhesive bottle, I used a small paint brush and painted the adhesive.  It worked great and allowed me to get into those tiny areas.  I then added a touch of Brown Stone on each letter - just enough to let the color show.

This is the final look at this home decor item.  It is absolutely stunning and the perfect shelf to hold family mementos.
